Naming the boats was a big deal. This particular name was in honor of the Sec. of Defense that caused to have the military reserve units called up to active duty so the equipment in inventory could be donated to the South Vietnamese Army on exit and new equipment could be ordered for the Transpiration Reserve Units State Side.

NICE MOVE, only it required that the men in the reserve to serve 1 year of active duty in the war zone.

What Happened to our secure position of no combat unless the Country was invaded?
