Military Bio:

Gerald W Fine (GW) died June 18, 2000 at Westminister Shores Health Center. He was born in Cleveland OH. moved with his family to Clearwater in 1956 . He later located in St. Petersburg’s Island Estates. He was President and Founder of Southern Industrial Supply Company a plastics wholesale distributor with offices in St. Petersburg, Crystal River and Miami. He served in the Army Air Corp., 8th Air Force, 364th Fighter Group and flew P51 Mustangs during WWII. He was a Instructor Pilot at Marana Air force Base in Arizona and later flew mission out of Huntington Royal Air Force Base in England. King Gustaf of Sweden awarded him that countries gold medal. After the war he piloted his own plane a Beachcraft Bonanza as a manufacturers reprehensive throughout the U.S. He later launched his industrial plastic wholesale supply business (SISCO) in St. Petersburg around 1957. Gerald (GW) was married to his Air Force Bride Geannie Brown Fine (now deceased) had two sons and two daughters. Gerald B Fine (deceased) and William B Fine of Treasure Island, Martha Morrow Berry, of Clearwater and Holly Ann Hehenberger of St. Petersburg. 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive him. GW was an active sportsman and participated in Big Game Fishing and Hunting throughout his life. He was an active member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a Mason, and Former Board Member of PAL and participated in Duck Unlimited events. He maintained for many years homes on the Withlacoochee River, Dunellen FL. and Boca Grand FL. He was an active boater and tarpon fisherman and in the 70’s won the popular Suncoast Tarpon Roundup
