Military Bio:

Born in Smithfield,Ill. 2-15-15 to Robert James Mason and Sadie Bell Kimes Mason .Enlisted 3-12-41 in Peoria ,Ill. Sent to Camp McCoy, Wisconsin where he went my Mom(Ruby C. Loomis) who was from Baraboo,Wi..They married-8-16-1943.He was sent off to England ,Wales,and then to Normandy.He fought with the 2nd Division ,9th infantry,3rd Platoon. He was captured Oct.3,1944 and taken to POW Camp Kristine @ Limberg, Germany.He was held 6 months til freed by a Russian Woman Soldier (3-44).After returning home he became the father to 3 daughters(Karen,Judy,Janice) and 1 son ,(James).He was killed Friday ,March 5th,1999, at the age of 84 in a car accident in Two Rivers,Wi.
