Military Bio:

Charles J. Prince was born in 1918, Lansing, Mich. Graduated from E. Lansing High in 1936 and enlisted in the USAAC on March 27, 1941. In 1943 he entered Pilot training School. Class 43-G and won his wings and commission on July 29, 1943 at Ellington Field, and was assigned to a bomber crew and trained at Walla Walla, WA. A few weeks later he was siting on the right seat of a B-24 with the 95th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force flying out of England. He was shot down on his 12th mission over Brunswick, Germany on 2/10/1944. He was 25 years old. Lt. Prince spent 15 months as a POW at Stalag Luft 1 in Barth, Germany. Liberated on May 1, 1945 by the Russians. He was awarded the Air Medal, Unit Citation, and POW Medal. After the war, Charles J. Prince went into the construction business (gravel & ready mix concrete) with a childhood friend. He retired in 1973, and still lives in East Lansing, Michigan.
