Military Bio:

Hillman entered the Army on October 11th, 1948. He was captured during the Chinese Spring Offensive in North Korea. During the battle, K Co. was over ran by the Chinese. Out of that battle only 19 members of K Co. survived. After 7 days in the mountains Hillman was captured while attempting to return to his unit. Hillman was released during the Chinese/United Nations Big Switch. He was discharged on October 19th, 1953 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Hillman married Irma Guillot Rabalais on August 14th, 1954. They have 5 children, 11 grandchildren and two step-grandsons. Hillman is very active in the South La. Chapter of American EX-POWs. He has served as Chaplain, Adjutant, Treasurer and twice as the Vice Commander. He is a member of the VFW, DAV, Purple Heart, KWVA, CIB organization(The Blue Badge), The Taro Leaf(24th Infantry organization) and the American Legion.
