James Rosso joined the Army and served in the 315th Infantry Division, European Theater of Operations during World War II. James participate in the Normandy landings and was captured in France July 4th 1944. He was 28 years old and was interned for 10 months until liberated by the U.S. Army on the 26th of April 1945. James was held in Stalag, 7A and 7B and received the Prisoners of War, Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medals.
After the war James was a lock operator with the Corps of Engineers, (dept. of Army) until retirement. James has remained active in Veterans Organizations and been an active member of the AX-POW's since 1982. He currently lives in Kenner, LA. with his wife Rachael.
